Important factors to consider while choosing LED Video Wall

 

Brightness:

To calculate the amount of brightness, Luminous Intensity is used, the unit is Candela (cd).

1 cd = 1000 mcd & 1 mcd = 1000 ucd,
Range of Indoor LED wall: 500 ucd – 50 mcd
Range of Outdoor LED wall: 100 mcd – 1000mcd
The brightness depends on the type of chip and the type of chip package used.

Pixel:

It is the least unit to compose the image or video, pixel diameter means the diameter of each pixel, the unit is millimeters (mm).
In the case of an Indoor LED wall, usually, one pixel is controlled by one LED unit. We define LED by the diameter and 3mm, 3.75mm & 5mm are the most widely used LED units.
When it comes to the outdoor LED wall, the requirement of enhanced brightness and viewing distance factor, one pixel consists of more than two LEDs and the type used is DIP. So, we use the distance between two pixels (we call it pixel dot pitch) to define the LED video wall and the p10, p16, p31.25 are the most widely used LED units.

Pixel Density:

it defines the number of pixels per square meter, lesser the pixel dot pitch, higher will be the pixel density, resulting in more clear images and videos making it more suitable for the near view. By increasing the pixel dot pitch, the pixel density will decrease, the image or video will be dark, more suitable for far view.

View Distance:

Led Video Wall

It can be calculated by using pixel dot pitch as:

farthest view distance = altitude of LED video wall * 30 (meters)
nearest view distance = pixel dot pitch (meters)
Example: one outdoor LED wall using p10 is installed at 10m height
farthest view distance = 10 * 30 =300 M
nearest view distance = 10 M

Below is parameter diagram of video wall LED models:

Pixel dot pitch: p10 < p16 < p31.25
Pixel density: p10 > p16 > p31.25
Clarity: p10 > p16 > p31.25
View distance: p10 < p16 < p31.25

Greatest power per sq.m.:

It can be easily calculated by the formula used in the following example:

one LED voltage 5 V, Current 0.02 A
So, one LED power = 5 V * 0.02 A =0.1 W
& Great power = one LED power * total LED number / scan type
example: LED video wall p10 great power = 0.1 W * 30000 / 4 = 750 W
NOTE: outdoor LED wall p10 scan type = 1/4 scan
The p10 LED video wall one pixel contains three LEDs, and the pixel density is 10000 pixels per sq.m., so one square equals 3 * 10000 i.e. 30000 LEDs.

DIP, SMD & Dot Matrix LED difference!!!

Maybe you will get confused while choosing from the LED display types, Dot Matrix LED, SMD displays or DIP displays, you can compare the price, brightness, working life and the clarity of the display, then choose the best suitable type.

If you want one low price LED with high brightness, the DIP will be the best choice, you can refer our p10 outdoor display screen, it uses the DIP tech. If you want brightness as well as clarity and the price is not a concern, then we recommend you to choose SMD, please refer to our p6 mm indoor display screen.

If you want long working life and high-quality output, then Dot Matrix LED displays will be ideal for you, but sure, this is only for reference, a meet can be scheduled where we will do a full and detailed analysis.

How to choose an LED display control card

Usually, for full color LED display, the synchronized control system will be good. We use Linsn control system for our product, you can choose from TS801 & TS802, the difference is TS802(1600*400) support more pixels than 801(1280*512). TS803 is for fiber transfer when your LED display is far away from your computer, you can choose this type. You can download the latest LED studio software. For single or two-color, asynchronized system is used, you can choose so many this type of control card, most commonly used are Lytech SCL2008, CL2005, CL3000.

Some of the special LED display control cards we have listed for you

Wireless control system: it supports GPRS or GSM, but only for single or two-color LED display, since the information transfer by wireless is slow and limited, but for single- and two-color LED display, it is enough and very convenient.

Outside synchronized control card: when you use a laptop to control your LED display screen, you should choose this type

Asynchronized full-color control card: when your LED display board does not usually change billboard or information, you can choose this type, we recommend supper comm, but this type of card does not support big LED screens.

How to choose the size of your LED displays!!!

First, you should confirm the task of the screen?

To display a message or text post, a single or bicolor LED display screen will fulfill the requirement, sure you can choose any size by yourself. But for displaying pictures, video or animation, go with the full-color screen. Since, for the full-color screen, at least 50,000 pixels are required to display the best picture quality, so you should calculate the total pixel in advance.

For example: suppose you want to buy p10 for an outdoor full-color display screen, from the parameter you can see the pixels per square meter is 10,000, so the best size is more 50000 / 10000 =5, so five square meters is the least requirement.

Maybe you will ask, why you cannot provide the same size that I want? Sorry, since the LED module size is fixed, and cannot be changed, and the display screen is assembled by LED modules, so the only thing we can do is provide you the closest to the one that you want.
